The Vauxhall Corsa C was introduced in the UK for the 2000 model year.  The engine line up started with the 1.0i 12v and included the 1.2i, 1.4i, 1.8i petrols and 1.7 diesel.  For additional performance from the engines the proven routes for gains are the way to go.  To help the engine breathe more performance air filters and induction kits can be fitted.  On the exhaust side high flow exhaust components can be added.  Starting at the front a tubular 4 branch manifold will let the gases escape more quickly compared to standard.  The cat is found in the down pipe under the original cast manifold.  Corsa Sports cats with less restriction than the O/E parts increase performance. These still continue cleaning the exiting gases and keep the car within MOT standards.  Further down the exhaust system proper can be improved on with large bore tubing and high flow silencer boxes.  The existing exhaust system includes two silencers, a centre silencer and a back box.  Systems are available with twin boxes or a silencer less centre section and back box, this is a Race tube system.  The race tube is basically a centre section with no silencer box.  Race tubes are available as a stand alone part which will work with any front pipe and back box that is designed to work with standard.  The most basic and popular Corsa C exhaust product is the back box.  The Corsa back box simply replaces the standard one and clamps on in place of the original. Materials used in construction are typically aluminised steel or stainless steel.  Tailpipes give the buyer a chance to pick a style to suit their car with single and twin round, oval and square options available.  Piper and Sportex offer aluminised steel Vauxhall Corsa C exhausts with Scorpion, Piper and Mongoose offering stainless steel versions.  In fact whatever your budget there is an exhaust to suit.
